| Miss Ola’s room provides an elegant and comfortable atmosphere for your Georgia vacation or holiday getaway. Miss Ola’s is a large second floor room on the front of our Thomasville, GA house with a view of the grounds from three large windows. This room's accommodations feature a king sized rice four poster bed and an empire dresser, which is older than the house (circa 1810 – 1820). The bath fixtures in this room all date from the ladies addition in 1935 with the shower itself having been added recently! The room is done in studio beige with art retrieved from the Maytag family home in Arizona gracing the walls. A love seat and comfortable chair provide seating for various activities. It is in this room that we believe a young lady, newly engaged, checked to see if the diamond was real! Etched into a window pane is the signature of “Miss C. Hansell, November 1, 1886. The signature is still there. The diamond must have been authentic! This was also a ladies room with “Miss Ola” being the occupant of this room and of this half of the house! Miss Ola used the front door to access her half of the house and the front staircase to reach the second floor where her bedrooms were located. The mystery of the ladies includes the two front doors, doors between the halves of the house that were locked, two kitchens, two garage entrances! There is also a relative of one lady who denies the existence of the other lady even though there is recorded (the deed records) evidence that they both were here! Room Summary:
